In the widespread application of vending machines, spring-loaded channels constitute a considerable proportion. However, occasional product jams in the spring-loaded channels due to packaging size and placement issues inconvenience users. Below, we will discuss in detail the solutions for addressing spring jams and introduce an innovative configuration developed by the DingShang development team to enhance user experience.

When users encounter a product jam in the spring-loaded channel while using an unmanned vending machine, they typically report the issue by calling the vending machine service hotline. The resolution varies depending on the severity of the jam. In the case of a severe jam that triggers the spring motor's detection of a stuck product, the vending machine will automatically lock that channel, refund the customer, ensuring user rights. For minor jams, such as a corner of a snack bag getting squeezed, where the vending machine may not detect an abnormal signal, operators need to manually refund the customer and lock the channel in the backend. During the next restocking, operators can realign the jammed product, unlock the channel, and resume normal operation.

To better address this issue, the DingShang development team has introduced an innovative optional package called the Multi-Point Infrared Sensing Device. This system is installed at both ends of the dispensing outlet of unmanned vending machines and can detect situations where items slide down from above, determining whether the dispensing was successful. In the event of a failed dispensing attempt, the system can make a second attempt, effectively reducing the workload for operators when the vending machine experiences a jam and enhancing the vending machine's automated processing capabilities.
